I have one word for you in scissors: Gingher. If you are going to sew seriously, don’t bother with any other brand, it isn’t worth it. Gingher’s will cut through anything. This is important when tearing up jeans for a skirt.
Ginghers are practically their own religion. At least they should be treated with reverence. You do not cut paper with your ginghers. You do not cut tape. Or anything in the kitchen. Divorces have been instigated by a spouse misusing the Ginghers. Don’t let this happen to you. Buy a pair and hide them.
I don’t know why Ginghers transcend blades and turn into a value. But all the sewers in my family feel the same. Our Ginghers are sacred ground. Mistreat and abuse them at your own risk.
